Protection from frauds while handling credit cards

Credit card frauds are a very common problem associated with the credit cards. However, there are several ways to prevent the holders as well as the companies from these credit card frauds.

To avoid the frauds or cheaters, there are certain steps holders must always follow.

If the holders applied for or received a new card or replacement card, then they must sign it immediately after receiving it. Even if the card is received through mail then the holder must signed it with ink and destroy the older or earlier cards into smaller of smallest pieces.

Holders should strip the old credit card and its receipts. To do this holders can buy and expensive paper shredder from any office supply store. All the earlier receipts the bears the credit card numbers and all the documents having personal information but now it is irrelevant should be torn in to smallest pieces. Destroying all the earlier documents is one of the easiest ways of avoiding fraudulence of the credit card. But credit card number and any unneeded documents with your social insurance number or other sensitive personal information should be shredded before disposal. This protects the general practices of the criminals to go to trashes for acquiring information related to receipts and the identity of the holder.

Holders should always avoid the faxing of credit card numbers. As there is a high chances of numbers being stole from the fax basket. Further in the process of sending fax frauds can also hack the credit card number and start using it.

Holder should be cautious while offering credit card numbers on phone or interment. The number should only be given to those with whom the holders share a cordial and trusted relationship, because these are the two places from where users can hack the credit card numbers.
